Recommend car for 3 child seats

I am looking for advice on upgrading my car.

Pretty much the only thing I am looking for is the ability to take 3 children's car seats across the one row. I am easy as to weather this is a 5 seater or 7 seater however if a 7 seater i still need all 3 seats to be able to fit in middle row.

Also I realise that most of these would be suv type cars however are there any regular cars which can take 3 car seats?

    Budget is about 25-30k

Honestly, it depends on your car seats. Many many cars will take three across, if they’re the right seats (The RSA check it fits guy told my mam last year he has for three seats in an auris, for example). Mondeos and superb have great space for three seats. In normal 5 seaters, isofix seats can be a no go if trying to fit in three, because they take up more space, there’s a bit more wiggle room with belted seats.
Most seven seaters have three full seats in the middle row, so in general, there won’t be an issue.

Have a 5, 3 and 1 year old. The one year old is currently in an isofit base but will be moving into forward facing seat. I find these seats to be quite bulky though. Currently drive a dacia stepway and cant fit all 3 seats across but wife has a peugeot 5008 and they fit no problem, however its a 7 seater which is pretty much used as a 5 seater with big boot.

If you are happy with your current car, may be worth looking at a multimac?

    Cheaper than changing.

There’s lots of narrower car seats though, depending on what you have. I suppose what I’m saying is that if your car seats are bulky, you’ll probably need to buy a seven seater if you want to keep them, but if you’d rather buy a 5 seater, you could do so, but may need to invest in new narrower car seats.
I have a Ford smax, with three car seats in the back.

SUV’s generally are no good as the wheel arches eat into Space and you don’t fit three seats.

    What I’ve found works are;
    VW Touran
    FORD Smax
    Renault grand scenic
    Citron Grand Picasso/C4

Really liked the look of the new xtrail but it looks like it has one of the narrower middle rows

One can look into the C4 Grand Picasso in SUV guise - Peugeot 5008.

Or the old 5008, which is a crossbreed between an estate and an MPV. It will be massively cheaper.

As someone looking to change from a Golf for more rear space, I have been surprised how so many of the modern cars have rubbish rear space, despite them being physically big vehicles.
