Does anyone know if ordering from Amazon.fr or Amazon.de will bypass any Brexit stoppages?

It depends on the package handler used, but it should be fine. They have multiple fulfilment centres for both Germany and France.

Most couriered items from both countries come direct by air. No idea how post goes.

A lot of air shipments to Ireland come through East Midlands in the wee small hours. It's possible that the courier companies will negotiate for a tax-free zone there so they can continue to use it as a hub for for shipments to Ireland i.e. they can ship through and no UK duty or VAT would be applied.

I ordered a phone last Oct form Amazon.es and it came from Spain, through Germany and then the UK, I was surprised. I have ordered a few items from .de but the tracking wasn't as detailed.

There'll be no issue with items transiting the UK to Ireland from EU countries. The only issue s possible delays. For containers, it simply means a seal is attached. For sorting centres it simply would have a system similar to a bonded warehouse.

Would ordering Amazon after Brexit in Ireland come from somewhere like Germany rather than the UK to avoid customs?

Only if you order from the German, or other EU site. If you order from the UK site it'll be VAT and duty.

No one knows what's going to happen after Brexit, so there's little point in speculating or even asking the question right now.

A bit off topic, but Brexit has already ruled out a supplier in the UK which I use every year. They supply seeds in small packs for 50 pence each, meaning I could get a good variety of different plants to try for small money. But they have already stopped sending to the EU.

As there is still much confusion regarding the UK’s exit for the EU we have to prepare for a ‘no deal’ situation.

This means that we will not be allowed to send seeds outside of the UK to the EU. From Saturday 16th March we will have to withdraw the ability to order for delivery into EU countries. This has to be done on the 16th to ensure orders already placed by then can be delivered by the 27th March (the current exit day).

We hope this situation is only temporary so that we can soon send seeds to our many valued customers across the EU.
