Sunlight reflector for windows

The two bedrooms in my apartment are southwest facing and get blasted continuously by direct sunlight all day during the summer. Could anyone recommend a product that will reflect the heat and help keep the room cooler? I don't mind if the rooms have to be in permanent darkness.

    Thanks

Bloc blinds are great for this.

Expensive and tricky to fit (don't believe the videos) but if you want to keep heat out/in and don't mind the place dark in mid summer they are the shot. When we roll up the blinds the space between the glass and blind fabric is like an oven.

Have one for the room the baby sleeps in and it's a godsend.

Only thing to be aware of is if you have your windows open your blinds are the next thing the wind will hit, and if it's windy then they can get pulled or pushed quite dramatically such is the seal they form. I'm not sure how much of that they will stand. That said we have it in 18 months now and it's standing up fine.

*EDIT* Just notice d this on their site now: Windows directly behind BlocOut Blinds must remain closed as this could cause the fabric to move when the blind is closed.
So that wasn't there when we originally bought ours. Must have been put in after, possibly on the strength of complaints. We leave the windows open if it's not windy.

Few different mounting options but this should give you an idea of the concept.

We're at the back of the building but on the 3rd floor. The way the windows open would make certain parts of the window too dangerous to work with.

Thanks. Probably should have stated that I'm looking for a solution that doesn't involve replacing the existing blinds. We're in a rented apartment so don't have much scope to change them. Also going to be rennevicted in a year or two so not keen on investing too much now. We have these horrible vertical blinds with useless slats. We bodged in some blackout curtains in one room but it's a bit of a mess and doesn't really reduce the heat.

Window tint film then. Installed easily and removed easily. Comes in various shades.
