    Hi guys,
So I'm looking to get new car and decided on either petrol Merc c200 or c220/250. Can get a lot higher spec for same money with diesels but worried about dpfs etc. I only do 8 miles to and from work and longer run every few weekends so mileage is probably petrol. However I have a 1.6 new model Passat and had no issues yet. Would I be mad to get another diesel?

    Diesel is not for you.

You are paying extra, then extra maintenance cost and you are doing 8 miles where the engine won't even reach optimal temperature.

OP, what benefits do you think you will get by going diesel again with you only doing the tiny mileage you are doing?

At that tiny mileage fuel economy should not be a determining factor in your choice.

Well I can get an AMG diesel for same price as entry level petrol so yeah there's that. Plus I love my Passat's mpg and do big runs some weekends
