    Hi everyone.

I’m really interested in a clerical position within the hse. I know the salary is 23, 586. I’m just wondering from anyone with experience, what and how much are deductions made? I’m also on the Single Parents Tax Credit. What are the weekly pension deductions etc worth? Thanks a million for all replies!

The HSE pension seems to be the single public service scheme, the same as the civil service.

On that basis, your pension contributions will be 3% of your gross pay, plus 3.5% of your pay over 486.60 (twice the old age pension) per week [that part won't affect you on the starting wage].

You'll also pay 4% PRSI, a little under 2% in USC on average and no income tax until you're earning €24,750. That's total deductions of around €40 per week once things settle down.
