    Hi All!
Just got the shock of my life when opening my p21 today.
So the p21 states that I owe revenue a load of money because of underpayment of USC.
I am a medical card holder and, from what I understand the maximum USC I should charged was 2% but in the p21 they caculate that I owe them money because the USC is calculated at 4.75% and 8%.
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can challenge this considering my tax credits were adjusted late last year and I got given a refund due to overpaying USC during most of the year?
    Any advice welcome.
    Thank you

you should have ticked a box to say you are a medical card holder. File amended return if it will let you or ring them. They will amend no problem

I just checked the p12 and the medical card box is ticked.
I guess I will have to deal with the panic until I call them tomorrow

You mention the 8% rate - if your salary is over 60,000 you are not eligible for the reduced rate of USC.

Oh OK, I did not know that and apparently neither did revenue last year!
It turns out I did underpay....
Thank you all for the replies!
