I ran out of oil and the system cut off and wouldn't start. I got a fill earlier, but can't seem to get the the boiler to start up again.

Would it just be air in the system not letting it fire up? I am not sure where would need to be bled to remove the air from the system. I may get a plumber to look at it, but they might not be free until next week, and would be nice to have heating over the weekend. Any ideas what should be done after the system stops due to lack of oil?

Thanks! Didn't even notice that part. Think I'll save that just in case, as I never noticed it on the manual either, seemed to only show the front two valves.

Don’t run the burner with that loosened, it will suck in air.

Or use 4. (Pressure gauge connection)

I only advise to use 4 and not 6 as i have seen the seal on 6 compromised on a few occasions

I always 6 unless I have to run the pump, then 4.

btw, I have way more often seen leaks from damaged threads on 4 than on 6
