Chip in panoramic roof

    I own a Peugeot 2008, which has a panoramic roof. There's a small chip in the roof, which if it were on the windscreen would be a minor issue and filled without replacement. As it's on the roof, Autoglass and Mr.Windscreen have told me they can't fix it without replacing the whole thing.

    My insurance company only cover windows, and don't consider the glass roof as a windscreen.

    1. Is there any alternative that might resolve it (other companies that could fix this without replacement).
    2. An un-treated chip in the roof, how likely is that to spread or fail?

    How come they (the windscreen crowds) dont just treat it the same as a windscreen and fill it? Did they say if the same chip was in the windscreen they'd fill it?

    If they work on it, they are accepting it is a windscreen (which it isn't) leaving them obliged to deal with future breakages.

    It is, however, an accidental damage, which means you can put it through as an own damage claim, which is subject to policy excess and affect on NCB
