So my Hotline energiser is out of action again.

The contacts on the plug look quite green, and the connection is intermittent.

What should I clean the contacts with? Jeyes fluid?

Then petroleum jelly to stop it happening again?

I would lightly scour/sand the corrosion away and apply some dielectric/silicon grease to prevent it corroding again.
Petroleum has a low melt point so it tends to run and dry up.

I can't really get at the corrosion as it's inside the little DC plug that connects the energiser to the fence, which is why I was hoping that some liquid product would work.

    Contact cleaner.

Spray it on, make and break connections a bunch of times.

Make a solution/paste of baking soda and water and use a small paint brush to work it over the contacts.

    Thanks.

Cleaned the contacts, and with that eliminated figured out it was the energiser that was busted.

And right in the middle of fox season!
