Squeak from rear of car

    Hi all,

Noticed lately whenever I go over speed bumps the rear of my car makes a squeak like a bad mattress in a bed.

I noticed the rear shock was leaking so replaced both hoping that might dismiss the problem but the sound is still there.

Any ideas before I send it to a garage?

    Cheers!

Yes, to a degree, I only ever hear it from inside the car but it does sound really close to that.

The thing is if I bounce the back of the car up and down myself there is no noise, its literally only when I go over a speed bump.

Open the window and go over a speed bump. See if it's louder. Should only be coming from one side too if it's a bushing. Not a big job to replace the suspension arm.

If it's not a bushing and only inside I'd be looking at the rear seat hinges and latches maybe?

Will give a listen tomorrow, thanks!

Can the bushing be replaced by itself or does the whole arm need replacing?

It need the tool to remove and install the bushing. Very easy technology, just plate, cup and the puller. It takes only several minutes to remove and install the new one.

Because your car suspension makes already bad noise, you may need to replace more than 1 bushing. If one goes, it may damage the others.
