Do new FTTH installs (move to Eir from another provider) always leave the telephone connection on copper where it exists. Can this telephone configuration be changed to fibre/router after install?

most likely you'll have ordered a VOBB service and the technician will take the copper or leave it if it is not interfering with the install

That is what I expected we had ordered but line has transferred from old provider and is still active on copper.
