When on holidays in Spain I always admired the thicker types of grass used by local councils in their parks etc. I would like to try and grow this in my garden. Can this type/variety of grass be purchased in Dublin?

I have a small front garden, lots of moss, I have also thought of growing some type of low growing carpet of something or other, maybe something with a scent off it other than grass. Any thoughts or recommendations?
