Is there a sp3cial loctite that you must use for treads? Mechanic told me put loctite on but the only stuff I have is loctite super glue stuff. Wondering now is It the same stuff or did he mean a different loctite product?

Yes thread lock red or blue is what's normally used. Any motor factors will sell it.

There is a different one for bolts. It’s normally red or blue depending on what your using it for. Most motor factors will have it

This is the stuff I have https://www.amazon.co.uk/Loctite-Precision-ceramics-plastic-leather/dp/B0001GRVPK

It looks like a pritt stick or lipstick holder. Nothing like super glue

It depends on the application and type of thread

Thread lock or bearing lock would do the job.

They to a savage product for pipefitting. Expensive but great, I used it on a few jobs in plastics factory where I was installing chiller units in clean rooms and we needed guarantee leak free.
I built and installed 23 units, 2 pumps, mixers, heaters and plate coolers in each and not one single drip, stays good until fitting is moved.

    Locktite 577 it’s called.
