Sorry, but I don't know the model number - has a date of 1987 on it...

Display seems to be looking for an "Eng Code" due to some random pressing of buttons. I can't seem to clear this.

I can set and un-set the alarm but it is causing problems with the alarm going off occasionally.

    Any help appreciated, thanks

When you unset the alarm what does it say?

The recorded voice says "system unset" as normal and then it goes back to the display requesting "Eng Code:"

The problem is that it does not accept the unset code every time

Never seen that happen on a 6 10.
Wonder is something gone corrupt on the panel.
Id recommend a power down and up to see if that clears the fault.

    Okay - thanks.
    How do I do that?

    Turn off mains in house.
Open control panel and disconnect battery.
're connect battery and put in your code.
Close up panel and turn back on mains.
When alarm sounds put in your user code on keypad.
