Wall vents..

    Hi folks.
I have a house that has a 4" wall vent in every room . The house was built about 12/14 years ago. I took off the vent covers and discovered the last occupant had blocked up each vent with cloths. They are all now clear.
The wind whirling around the house through the now open vents makes it a very cold and noisy place .
Q: Is there anything I can do to keep out the cold and noise and still keep the vents working.
    Thanks.

You can buy humidity controlled vents such as by Aereco which will open and close based on the humidity of the room. Useful for bedrooms etc where the occupancy varies over the day. For rooms that aren't often used just get closable vent covers and close them when rooms not use. For the busiest rooms such as kitchen just leave it as you have
