J6+ Bluetooth

The bluetooth connection is acting up in my new j6+ on the car handsfree kit. Very distorted sound on call, and gets progressively worse the more I use it. Until I clear the cache in storage on the Bluetooth in systems apps, restart the phone and hey presto crystal clear again.
The second phone call is broken up again and repeat until I clear the cache again. Tried my wife's Z3 and a Huawei both working perfect no issues.
One thing I do notice is it takes an age to load the phonebook onto the car screen.
    Any ideas it's really annoying?

A suggestion, check what Bluetooth Protocol is being used by your phone and maybe change it in Developer Options?

    Specifically AVRCP version!

Having gone through all 4 AVRCP modes and continuously wiping the cache theres no difference in the audio on the handsfree in my car. Have it permanently disconnected now which is not ideal.
Brought it back to the phone shop who wont provide a cover phone but will take a look at it for 5 to 10 working days.
    Anything else I could try?
