Mates car was robbed; some lads went on a joyride from his house to Finglas in it.

He got it back (Gardai found it) relatively intact, and was going to have his insurance fix it (had to get the key barrel replaced, amongst other things), but found he'd be paying loads for the next few years (he didn't have claims protection). So, he's paying €3500 to have it fixed.

I'm wondering if he can claim off MIBI?

Why would he claim of MIBI? MIBI is for road traffic accidents caused by unidentified or uninsured vehicles.

Theft is not considered a road traffic accident.
