    Hi,
trying to setup a standing order to N26 from Bank of Ireland.
Can't do it online.  Tried calling.  Customer Service said it cant be done.
Went back to N26, they said that's illegal and it can be done.
I have been able to setup direct debits/standing orders from N26 with other Irish companies/banks.
    What's going on BOI?????

Euro area banks are required to do this.
    Bank of Ireland don't.
    Good customer service?

Not illegal. They only have to allow you to make transfers easily to your N26 account but no legal obligation to allow you set up a standing order.

However, I'm with KBC and they do allow it.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the message.
If the account has a BIC code that is not based within the Republic of Ireland you can set up the account as a Payee so that you can transfer to it but there wouldn't be the facility to set up a standing order to an account.

    Thanks again,
    Darren.

Thanks for getting bank to me. Once the account is held in the Euro zone and is in the Euro currency there would be no cross boarder charge for a transfer to it.

    Thanks again,
    Darren.

So let me get this straight - I cannot setup an SO via IBAN to an account outside of Ireland and this is a bank policy?

...and no support for Google Pay till 2022 either? And I'm paying for this service through notified fees?
I'm sorry - this is not acceptable, I'm going to have seriously consider KBC - they also offer a reasonable interest rate!
