Apologies if in the wrong place.

I just need some help with flight routes.

I might have to go the Manila with work. Fly out Sunday, return on Thursday night, so land in Dublin on the Friday.

Previous to knowing about this trip, I was already going to Faro on the Thursday, I have a return flight booked from Dublin. I can change the outbound flight from Thursday to Friday if needs be. Ideally, I'd not like to return to Ireland, and get to Faro as quickly as possible, early Friday if possible.

I can travel business where possible.

The trip over is straight forward - I can go Qatar, Emirates or Turkish via their hubs.
In my head it would make sense to come back as far as the hub with the same airline but Faro doesn't seem to have connections to Doha, Dubai or Istanbul. So it may not be the best solution?

I found I can go from Manila to Hong Kong, HKG to Frankfurt and Frankfurt to Faro.

Or would I be as well just fly back to Dublin and change the outbound flight to Faro to Friday evening.

    Any ideas?

A really handy tool for this is Google Flights, as it can visually show you the connections on a map. Or just Skyscanner. Looking at Thursday, 4 April as an example 1 way Manila-Faro, it looks like Singapore-Frankfurt-Faro (Singapore-Lufthansa) at 26hrs 35mins or Hong Kong-London Gatwick (Cathay Pacific-British Airways) at 21hr 35mins are your best bets. Puts you in there late morning / early afternoon Friday.

Using the multi-city tool Manila-Dublin-Faro is going to take you 25 hours or so, self transfer, why bother if you can have someone else pay for it.

Yeah I was using Skyscanner so far, will check out google flights.
    Liking the Hong Kong/Cathay combo.
    Thanks

Just make sure that if you do go straight from Manila to Faro that the airline you originally booked the Faro flights with know that you wont be on the outbound leg. If you don't they'll cancel your return ticket and you'll be up the creek when it comes time to getting back to Dublin.

    Thats not always the case

Granted I said "they'll" instead of "they may". But that's exactly why its a good idea to give them a heads up, because you may not know until its too late

You're probably best off coming back to Dublin, as you'll have to connect somewhere else if you go via the other hubs. Only issue is if you don't live in Dublin you're lugging all your luggage to and fro and also on your FR/EI flight to Faro.

Would you be able to go via London, then you could either do a stopover and go LON-FAO-LON and continue your flight a few days later, or just forfeit the London Dublin and DUB-FAO parts, buy a Lon-FAO then use your FAO-DUB flight.

A bit of an out there suggestion might be Turkish or Emirates from Manilla that night via Istanbul or Dubai to Lisbon, and then the train down to Faro. The trip is circa 20 hours including a 2.5 or 3 hour connection. The train is about 2.5 hours i think.

The Cathay / BA option via LGW is good alright, but a tight ish connection (for my OCD anyway) in HKG !
