Eir mobile voicemail set up

I recently switched to Eir from Virgin Mobile and have experienced issues activating my mobile voicemail.

I followed the instructions as per the IVR menu on dialing 171 and recorded my voice mail message. I have also 'activated' my voice mail as per the menu instructions and it tells me that the voicemail is set up.

However when someone calls me, instead of getting my recorded voicemail message, they are instead presented with a message saying ''If you would like to leave a message for someone else press 1, if you would like to go to your own voicemail ...''

When i dial my mailbox number via 08X 5 XX XXXXX i am played my voice mail greeting.

Wondering if something was missed on account porting from Virgin?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi, I am having same issue. Recently moved from Vodafone to EIR. Dialled 171 but it doesnt appear to recognise my number (recently ported across from Vodafone). Brought to local EIR shop in Gorey a couple of weeks ago who reset my voicemail account. Now I get automated text messages for missed calls now but no voicemail service. Help!
