Maybe tell us a bit about it. I won't listen to a random podcast I know nothing about.

Apologies, thought I had put the blurb along with the links...prob assumed Emmet was enough of a known name in this country as he was everywhere in the papers & on The Late Late a while back due to the release of the film

Rob Mateer AKA DJ Pressure is one of the longest serving & most influential names in Irish dance music culture.

In the 90's his mixtapes were bought, borrowed, copied & stolen by a whole generation of Irish ravers who were only just beginning to adapt to the foreign electronic club orientated sounds imported from abroad.

Tales of residencies & gigs at some of Ireland's most fabled clubs & venues such as the infamous Asylum & The Mansion House, mixed with his self confessed addiction to obtaining rare & sought after music are the perfect ingredients for a fascinating trip through the early Dublin rave scene.

Episode 4 - Mango X MathMan are two of the leading figures in the new wave of exciting Irish urban music.

Mango’s lyricism embodies Dublin wit, humour and attitude over MathMan’s diverse and captivating productions. Their live shows have become the highlight of festivals around the country, inducing old school rave parties for a new Ireland.

    Episode 5 - Tony Duffin

As well as being my second cousin, Tony Duffin is the CEO of the Ana Liffey Drug Project, a Dublin-based non-profit organisation which advocates for a health-based, harm-reductive approach to the issues of drug-use and drug policy in Ireland.

Their advocacy for the decriminalisation of drugs is a hell of a conversation starter, as is their campaign for medically supervised injection centers for drug users.

In this episode we talk about both of those points as well as his experience of growing up London Irish, how The Pogues changed his life & his near brush with becoming a professional photographer.

    Episode 6 - Mark McCabe

Nineteen years ago, almost overnight, Mark McCabe cemented his place in Irish music history with the release of Maniac 2000.

Pirate radio beginnings, a host of writers & a failed big money major label deal all contribute to a story that’s just as fascinating as the long lasting impact that the track has had on Irish culture.

In more recent times Mark has parlayed that success into a full time music career, working with Gavin James & rising duo SIIGHTS as he tours the globe in support of his music old & new.

    Episode 7 - Vince Power

If you don’t know Vince Power’s name, you’ll definitely know his work.

Benicassim, Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Homelands. Creamfields, Tribal Gathering. The Fleadh, Hop Farm, The Mean Fiddler, South Tramore & a host of other festivals & venues have all contributed to an illustrious career in live music promotion.

He once had it all - 27 venues & festivals sold to Clear Channel for a reported £38 million in 2005, seven years later he had lost most, if not all of it due to the economic downturn.

Here, the once dubbed “king of the gigs” reflects on it all & his quest to win it all back with his Liverpool based Irish music themed festival The Feis.
