Iphone 6s bent - is repair possible

My son dropped his phone yesterday and shattered the screen, when I took it to PAIR they told me they couldn't replace the screen because the phone was bent. Phone works perfectly but the screen is too badly cracked to use. Is a repair possible by an independent or will it have to be Apple which will likely cost a fortune…
