    That's a simply fantastic resource.

I'll most definitely bookmarking that page.

Nice little report on six one news about its launch.

Bit of banter between Mikey Sheehy and Paddy Cullen.

Always had those on the tv's in the GAA museum

Great website and hope they keep adding to it (Waterford wins are not on it yet). Wonder would an app version with Chromecast come along ??

No Mayo wins either. That archive should come with a health warning.

Of course the archive doesn't go back to 1951.

It would be great if there was an app with chromecast functionality going forward

Well why would it go back to 1951 ? RTÉ has only been around since 1961 as a TV service and I think it's 1966 they started showing the All Ireland finals on TV and only then in black and white.

    Great link thanks.

Would the club championships be ever added do you think?

    I'm not saying they should.

It was a tongue in cheek remark.

Fair enough re RTE first broadcast in 1961 and the whole archive has been created in conjunction with the BAI.

I was more thinking there are television archives to sate us long suffering supporters available via the Irish Film Institute.

As far as I know the club championship finals have been added.

Not sure if all finals back to the start of the club championship are included.

Sorry I reread your post and it could read the way I took it and the way you meant. It goes back to 1963 which seems to be newsreal and not live footage.

That looks brilliant - pity the 2017 all-ireland hurling final isn't there yet.

Might look at the 1994 final between limerick and Offaly - the famous 5 minute final, or the 1995 when Clare made the breakthrough.

It's amazing when you look at the older videos (say even from the 90's) how much the game of hurling has changed in that time.

They do have the GAA gold dvds which has footage of games that go back to the 40s

Possibly copyright issues is why they can't be used in this archive yet

Two Munster finals(the replays from 1987 and 1996) have been added to the archive and it's the full games not just highlights like the All Irelands.
