    Hi all

Don’t think there’s a thread like this but forgive me if there is.

So my wife and I live watching a movie on a Saturday night. As with all good things though kids come along to spoil the day.

I’ve a 12 year old daughter and we have gotten in to the habit of allowing her up late to watch with us. Problem is that this rules out 15 and 18 rated movies. I don’t want to watch older movies that my wife and I have seen already and then I thought maybe some 15 rated movies are ok. I don’t mind some swearing or small amounts of violence but is there a nearly 15 rating? Or a way to determine if some are suitable without having to watch them alone first. I can’t be the first person with this issue? And I’m not looking for a reply of “let her watch 15 stes movies when she’s 15”.

I know the rules of this forum state no lists but I think a list of movies that are 15 rated but safe would be useful.

Don’t shoot me if you don’t agree please.

Search the film you’re going to watch on the IFCO or BBFC websites. They’ll both give you a rough overview of the film’s content in terms of language, violence, sex etc... To list every film suitable for a young teenager would take forever, so would recommend just searching those sites whenever you need it :)

Have a look at this website:

    https://www.commonsensemedia.org/

Under the movies section it will give advice to parents about the content. It goes into more detail than just a rating. Hopefully you find it useful.

Yeah even going to imdb and scrolling down to click on "View content advisory" beside where it says Parents guide on the film you want to watch, will give you a list of occurrences that happen, without any spoilers...

That website is very good. Hadn't heard of it before. The parents reviews are a worth a read too. I looked up a few films I've watched with my kids recently and I'd agree with the reviews there.

IMBD have a parents guide with people's comments for each movie I randomly picked Escape Room which is a 15's movie

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer
