Can anyone tell me how we can manage a pool car ? It's for charity where lots of volunteers would be driving the car.
Insurance company is telling us they'd all need to have their own personal insurance. How does a charity get around this.

Have you looked in to a commercial policy for the car so that all volunteers/employees of the charity can drive it?

Does the charity own the car? Previously we had named insurance for one driver (comprehensive), then third party for other non-named drivers (who had their own insurance, and were able to drive other vehicles). For a small charity it was our best option at the time. As above, see what quotes you would get for commercial insurance. From my recollection, it would be expensive and each driver would need to be named.

See if you can get open driving, this allows anyone over 25 with a full licence to drive. But I doubt that any insurance to allow multiple drivers will be cheap. A charity can't get around insurance companies rules.

Thanks for your input. I've found out that I can change to a ltd company as bussines can have multiple drivers on one car/van etc.
