Clerical Officer Pay Scale Difference

    Can someone explained to me the difference between the Clerical Officer and Clerical Officer Higher Scale -I suppose my real question is how does one get onto the higher scale

    Clerical Officer (PPC)

    A % of each Dept will have an allocation of staff on the higher scale.

    Being placed on the higher scale is usually based on seniority/suitability but Ive seen some departments have competitive interviews in the last few years

    Let's be honest, it's a pretty crap wage scale, not even 40k after 12 years? I know secretaries who are earning €42k after 4 years in the job without any prior experience.

    What basis is the pay increase? Is that every year or is it after promotions etc? Could you be there 4 years and still on the starting wage for example?

    Its increments, paid yearly. No, you couldn't really be on the same starting wage after 4 years, unless you were getting bad reviews annually on your PMDS

    Just wondering also on the above, doing an interview next week for Kerry for a panel says starting is 23k or so im on 27k at the moment would it get long to go up scale and get to this even not sure could i take a 3k cut even if i was offered a job

    It will take you 4 years to get to €27k
