I have suffered with Gout for a long time since my early 20s. It always used to pass after 2 days. I have had an attack on joint of my toe as usual the past 5 days I literally can’t walk on it and can’t sleep the sheets keep gettting in the way and I’m screaming in pain.

It’s beyong a joke I’ve been in agony for days.
Anyone know anything to try arrest it.

    Can your doctor prescribe anything?

Avoiding certain rich foods is a good idea and cutting down on the drink.

Losing weight can help as well.

Apple Cider vinegar with the 'mother' in it taken in a cup of water is supposed to neutralise the acid causing the pain. Braggs is the brand I have, my OH suffers from gout. You'll get it in a health food shop. Red Onions are also good for gout.

With the mother in it? Haha excuse me ignorance.

Apple coder vinegar is an acid and cannot in anyway neutralise uric acid.
If you have been suffering for 10 days then time to get to the doctor.

Are you on any long term treatment ( colchicine or other?)

I’ve never ever went to the doctor with it. Still suffering from it absolutely excruciating, ibuprofen is only thing that settles it down.

Cut out seafood, lots of meat, and beer. There are full of the purines that cause it.

A tea spoon of baking soda in a glass of water, stir it well and knock it back.

Take some soluble solpadene after that.

And if you have some, or can get some... Difene.

Red Meat and beer yes but not all seafood.

Seafood: Although it is recommended that a healthy diet includes a lot of fish, people who have gout should be aware that some seafood can increase levels of uric acid in the blood, and may make gout worse. High purine content: Anchovies, codfish, haddock, herring, mackerel, mussels, sardines, scallops, trout.

I am not a doctor this is simply what the internet told me.
