Hi hoping for a few suggestions we're hoping to holiday in Cork this year in July, self catering. Ideally looking for a nice beach area but would have a pub/restaurant near by and a shop. We've two girls aged 3&7. Don't mind what area of Cork after that, can any of you recommend nice places? Thanks v much

    Cork?

West for a horse and east for a woman.

Stayed here for a weekend before. Reasonably priced, hotel, pubs, shops within 100m, plenty of lovely beaches within easy driving distance (closest one 2k)

It's right on the coast with a small beach. Avoid castletownbere beach. Sewage outlet beside it.
    There's also a playground.

Probably worth having a look at dreamireland.com just to have an idea on whats available. You will also find some self catering options on the other websites like trip advisor and booking.com. Unfortunately it is probably the most expensive month for holiday rentals if cost is an issue.

Kinsale is ideal and there are loads of Airbnb in area and no shortage of Pubs, restaurants and shops. The local Kinsale beach (The Dock) is small and ideal for the age of your kids and plenty of great day trips from there as you head out the WAW and you also have option to go into the City or to Fota. see www.kinsale.ie for a idea as to what's available.
