Does anyone know of a free online tax refund calculator, or how I can calculate how much/if I am due a tax refund? Half afraid to check it myself online on ros in case I owe money back! Thanks!

Do it with Revenue online. If you owe money ignorance of same will not make it go away.

It depends on your situation :)

Are you a salaried employee or is it a bit more complex e.g. earning rental and / or investment income, trading income/ self-employed etc? Do you make pension or PRSA contributions/ AVCs? Have you medical expenses to claim tax relief on?

I've an Excel spreadsheet at http://taxcalc.eu/monthlyss which suits most 'employee situations'- you can enter a salary, other income such as benefit-in-kind or an annual bonus and a variety of deductions to see what you'd expect to be netting. However, it definitely wouldn't cover EVERY conceivable tax issue so I wouldn't rely on it for a definitive answer.

There are other similar calculators at Deloitte, PWC, Hookhead.
