Hi lads, I'm thinking of doing a trip through Scandinavia and Iceland this summer and just wondering if there is a typical route that people take and if it could be fit in over 2 weeks? Thanks.

Driving, train, cruise, hiking, do you have a transport preference and a budget in mind?

Seems way too much to try and do "Scandinavia" and Iceland! Even the former in 2 weeks would mean a lot of travelling and sounds more like a box ticking exercise than a holiday to me. What are you looking to do, what's drawing you there?
I've had great long weekend trips to Stockholm and Copenhagen and i'd love to get to the countryside there and in Norway. But Sweden and Norway are very big countries and getting around will take a good bit of time unless you're going to fly between cities.

You could use those 2 weeks up easily in Iceland without stepping foot in Scandinavia, OP.

Here is a good thread about Iceland...

If you don't want to read it all, I'd recommend reading the last few pages at least.

If you really want to visit both Iceland and Scandinavia, maybe look at doing 5 days in the Tromso region of Norway, then 8 days in Iceland's south and west regions. I'm not sure about Norway, but I'd highly recommend renting a car or jeep in Iceland. It will give you so much freedom in a country which has no public trains or very limited public transport of any kind.

Just in case you aren't aware, Iceland is very expensive and I hear it's similar in Scandinavia.

Thanks lads! It's for my honeymoon so I'm guessing we're better off sticking to the two weeks in Iceland, so we can get in the full driving tour.
