    Hi guys,

My girlfriend and I are planning a two week trip to Italy this summer (June) we've already booked part of the trip but are looking for recommendations for around the Tuscany region.

We are planning to spend 3 nights in the region but can't seem to figure out where to base ourselves. For this part of the trip we'd be interested in the outdoors, countryside, vineyards, quaint towns with good food and drink!

Neither of us have been to this region before so any recommendations of places to stay or personal experiences anyone could offer would be invaluable!

    Thanks.

It's a pretty big area. Probably somewhere in southern Chianti is your best bet if you only have 3 days. That way you can visit San Gimignano and Siena and you'll be on the heart of that kind of classic Tuscany countryside.

Greve-in-Chianti is a nice little town, with an amazing world renowned deli in the middle. You're halfway between Siena and Florence.

We have booked accommodation in Chianti, it looks great, roughly halfway between Florence and Siena, think it's a good base from what I've been reading.
