    I'm looking at visiting Verdun but am wondering if you need a tourguide to optimise the experience and understanding.
    If so any recommendations please?

    It would be worth your while joining the WW1 forum. Those who have hostels, B@B's etc are in there and others who have toured and can give you advice.
