Hi hoping for a few suggestions we're hoping to holiday in Cork this year in July. Ideally looking for a nice beach area but would have a pub/restaurant near by and a shop. We've two girls aged 3&7. Don't mind what area of Cork after that, can any of you recommend nice places? Thanks v much

What kind of accommodation? House, b&b, hotel or even mobile home?
Clonality is nice, small but bustling town, plenty for the kids to do even in poor weather and is 10mims drive from a few nice beaches.
Youghal would tick all the boxes too.

Check out the self catering houses in the Quality Hotel, Clon
As above. Clon prob your best bet. Plenty to do with small kids.

Courtmacsherry, Timoleague are lovely little villages. Clonakilty is a good town with plenty of attractions. Its very near Inchydony beach which is a blue flag beach. The hotel there has family accommodation adjoining the hotel. Definetely worth checking out

On wet days the hotel pool is pay as you go also. There is a soft play area in the model railway village also. Supervalu in Clon is a great place for nice holiday food. Spent most summers down there and parent still have a house there in the town. Great spot. If you ring the hotel pretending your going to stay you might get a number for baby sitter.

Nolan's in the town is a nice spot for a pint.

Bit late now, but was going to recommend Baltimore, great little town that faces Sherkin island which makes a great day trip (many's a fond memory of staycationing down there, and I'm from West Cork myself). On the Eastern end there's Ballycotton which again has lots of lovely beaches but maybe a bit less to do in terms of amenities.

Schull is quite far West as well, but also has lots of self catering options and has the planetarium which kids really enjoy. Lots of outdoorsy activities around there as well, watersports, horseriding and the like.

Hope you have a great holiday, it's a great corner of the world!
