    Hi,

I'm wondering what do I even ask for here to get a replacement as I don't know hinge speak in terms of how many degrees they open or what sizes they come in or how they fit to the door.

Kitchen was installed by Cash and Carry kitchens a few years back before I bought the house.
One of the hinges has snapped.

    Make is Salice.

So what am I looking for here? I rang Cash and Carry but they weren't that helpful.

Think they're fairly generic, if you bring it into Woodies or Homebase they should have identical ones

Cheers lads. Thought that they might be non standard if coming from a kitchen maker.
    That's a relief!

Looks like it could be a 165 degree hinge, hard to tell from the photos. Is it for a corner door?

Watch for the fixings with your replacement, euro screws for the hinge plate, hinge dowel/screw for the hinge to the door.

Cash and carry will replace for free, at least they do with mine

No, not on a corner, but it does open slightly more than 90 degrees from closed.
On the door part does something go into the holes and then I screw into that? Looks like there's a fixed plastic plug on that part that came out of the door holes. Struggling to see how that attaches to the door as the screws only rotate approx 180 degrees before stopping. They can't be screwed into the wood from what I can see.

    Cheers for the reply!

Hopefully. The call today wasn't exactly making me confident of that though.

plastic dowel goes into the hole, screw goes into a plastic dowel. Turn the screw to lock into place.

Most common hinges would be in the range 90 - 100 degree, 165 - 180 for corner doors.

You have to get the one with the right angle and same size of screw. I'e got the right angle but wrong size screw before.
