    Hi,

Currently I have a business with VAT, but I may need to unregister the VAT

Im considering getting a job and keeping some customers as extra work ...

Can I transition to working for someone on the books (being an employee) and keep some customers / Invoice them? (without VAT)

    Thanks

Yes. Provided your turnover from the self-employment is under the relevant registration threshold ( €37,500 p.a. assuming you're providing a service ) then you can deregister for VAT but remain self-employed. You can also be both self-employed and an employee at the same time.
