Is there any company that offer a warranty on a used car privately? Going to look at a 2010 Bmw 118d, if I buy it I want warranty as im really not sure about the n47 engine but love the cars!
    Thanks

There are 3rd party warranties from the likes of mapfree, car protect, etc. But just remember that they are more like an insurance policy to guard against certain mechanical failures rather than a traditional dealer warranty. These 3rd party warranties can have many exclusions and the companies can be difficult enough to deal with so you need to be careful with them.

You could also get a quote from https://www.bmw-warranty.ie/Start but not sure if they will cover a 9 year old car for a reasonable price.

A 9 year old car is realistically becoming a suitable scrapper so to speak.

Just read the policy terms carefully.
Sometimes a failure could be covered but associated damage not covered or certain sensors might not it be covered. What happens the labour costs associated with fault finding when they turn around and say the failure they found is not covered.
