I have a large sitting room just off kitchen, the door going in is arch(pic attached).

Just looking for idea's on how to potentially block it up, rest of the doors are standard, I replaced with oak doors recently. The kitchen is oak as well....

    Any idea's?

What about a custom made bookcase, for cookery books in the kitchen perhaps

We have an arch we want to get rid of as well.

Tap around the arch where the top corners would have been. Are they just plaster (Most likely)?

If so you should be able to just knock them out easily so the opening has 90 degree corners. A carpented should be able to put jn a door frame then. You could put a small window on top above the door.

Is it concrete or hollow plaster around the arch?

It was the outer wall of the house before. I did not do the renovation

So it a double leaf block wall anyway, they could have broken out in standad rectangle shape and then curved it around
