Hi we are getting the bathroom retiled etc, so it is i believe a good time to replace the 15 year old immersion & gravity fed Mira 88.

    Access is the issue

When i remove the tiles will i have to drill holes in the plaster board to disconnect the shower & fit the replacement?

The new shower will be a differant type of mira, or should i just keep what i have with new seals etc when required?

Are you getting a plumber in at all? Or are you doing all the plumbing yourself?

    Hi,
I was hoping to tackle some of it myself.

I only ask because if you had a plumber then he'd rip it all out for you.

Take the dial off & the back plate. You'll find the cartridge attached to the brass body of the shower. If you are putting in a new shower you shouldn't have to remove the cartridge itself. With the back plate off you should be able to see where the hot & cold enter the brass body. You are going to need to get tools in the wall to remove the brass body. You are retiling anyway so there's nothing wrong with opening the wall another few inches to give you room for the tools.
Mira Element SLT BIV Built-in Thermostatic Mixer
Should replace your shower. Double check before buying but I'm pretty certain this is the one
