    Hey Guys,

Doing my nut in trying to figure out what laptop to get , I want to do some further learning this year so want to pick something up for that. I also would like the option of playing some RTS games on them.

Budget is around 1-2K , looking for something that's not to big, decent enough battery and as I said can play RTs games on defent graphics.

    Thanks

    Cal

Dell g5 with rtx 2060 looks good
2.1 kg so not too bad as far as gaming laptops go

The one for just under 1600 with the better screen and 16gb ram

the gtx 2060 in a laptop appears from tests to be more a little bit more powerful than the 1070 max-q so fairly powerful.

    I was wrong on the weight - it's 2.6kg

Thanks for this, I believe I should be able to get a discount on top of it .

that will be able to run games at high settings for years to come.

the build quality on the new model of the G5 (this one) looks pretty nice also e.g. thin bezels

I went with a G5 but instead of getting a new one I ordered on the outlet store , while the gfx card is a 1060 the SSD and RAM were much better.

hope it works out. the build is new on the new G5 also - not just the internals.

the 1060 is a decent card still and RTS games aren't the most intensive games graphically so it's more than enough for that.

The way I justified it is that I'm mainly a PC gamer and anything really process intensive I'll play it on my gaming PC.

The laptop primarily will be used for home office stuff i.jist couldn't miss out on an opportunity to do some mobile gaming.

All in I spent around 1.3K for a laptop with 16gb ram at decent speeds , decent proc and a 512gb SSD with a 1tb HDD.
