Any way to upgrade?

    Have a very basic laptop here ...Dell Inspiron 3451. 2GB Ram ,32 bit operating system ,X64 -based processor, Intel Celeron CPU N 2840@2.16GHz 2.16. It has gotten very little use because it is useless!!

    I am just wondering is there any way to upgrade it so that it actually could run some programmes , increase speed and storage a little ?
    Or I am looking at just getting a laptop with better spec? -I am not very computer savvy so I came here for advice. Thanks

    What's your budget and expectations.

    You can buy RAM, an SSD and do a fresh install of Windows. This will speed things up a bit.

    Otherwise you can spend a few hundred quid on a new one. Buy online, don't buy from a shop.

    I have max €350 that I could put towards a laptop .....so that is why I was wondering if I could do something to the Dell to keep me going ..until my budget increases ..
    I want the laptop to run programmes like inkscape , adobe capture , and Silhouette Studio for Vinyl cutting machine . I
    I am fed up seeing ...Programme not responding ...

    So open to suggestions ...
    Any idea what RAM and SSD would cost me ? Also where to buy?
    I'm stalking Hot uk Deals daily.

    that's a dire cpu by modern performance stds tbh and you can't upgrade the cpu

    probably go for a new laptop.
