Sorry if this is a ghost thread but I think ye can help me. Mods, move if needed.

I am after putting a deposit on a 2016 Octavia Vrs, lovely clean car leather heated seats etc. Only problem though it doesn't have the Vrs button (the one beside the gear lever) Also, I can't change the drive mode on the infotainment system, the car feels like its permanently in normal mode.

Is the Vrs button or the drive mode selector an additional add on?

Have of ye with a Vrs have the same issue?

Can't find any of the answers online. Please help.

    Thanks in advance -
    A

The vrs or mode button as many had does almost nothing anyway, just changes the weight of the steering a bit. That said I have never seen a real vrs without it? (many just say mode btw not vrs) Car must have performance selection pack fitted to get the button but surely nobody was that stingy buying it new

Thanks for the speedy reply. I have found in other threads just now that its an addition extra in Ireland but comes as standard in the UK, for the price you'd think it's included.

I did a motor check on the car it's 100% Vrs. Would you know if the drive mode could be changed on the infotainment system? I prefer the heavier steering when in sport mode.

Somebody was clearly very cheap when buying the car so, it was only a 100 euro option :o You might be able to buy the button and have it coded in with vcds, its not something I have ever tried but its likely possible considering it only affects the steering and silly fake sound aktor

Considering the previous owner bought the leather heated seat package I must agree with you, for the sake of a 100e like. Grand I'll look into trying to get it fitted. Appreciate that, thanks man.

Was a cheap option or else part of the challenge pack.

Being able to set the steering and throttle response are grand but the difference is minor and the steering becomes artificially heavy around town. You can have the lights in sport mode though which means the cornering function works better with the steering - only reason I went for it tbh.

I have it as part of the challenge pack on a VRS and never use it.
