Best Agri Show In The Uk

Thinking of going to a good agri show in the Uk this year some weekend. Never been to an agri show abroad before so was wondering does anyone recommend any agri shows in the Uk.

Know about the Royal Highland which looks good, but any other recommendations. It’d be livestock and machinery and other farming stuff that I’d be looking for. Not interested in an indoor machinery show only like Lamma.

    Cheers

Neighbour swears by Adam Hensons farm (Countyfile BBC) for something different

Welsh show is good too, but you'd need a tent/caravan/camper, it's nearly impossible to get accomodation within two hours drive of it.

Went to the highland last year for the first time with the kids, it’s in a quick walk from the airport and a great day out. Very well spread out and not over packed like the ploughing. Great livestock and unusual stands, There was a tent about bees and what is made out of the wax and a stand showing lads doing craving with chainsaws.
The kids want to go this year and no longer interested in the ploughing.

Have been to both lamma and the highland show. Thought both were very good. Hope to head to the highland again this year.

Loads of it, both for livestock and machinery, and all with supplier contacts to Ireland. It's a dedicated snowbound, concrete roadways and fixed livestock exhibits etc. Lots of entertainment all day, and the town at night time is completely closed off to traffic and rocks till the small hours..Its a week long celebration ofWelsh farming.

Been to the Royal Highland twice, great show and a great city to stay in for the Craic as well.
As an overseas visitor, you can register beforehand and get reduced price entry.

You could just drive to the Balmoral show of course.

I went to the one in Clermont-Ferrand in 2012, really enjoyed it. Farm tours were great aswell. I flew out of Cork so it's makes it a bit awkward to get to at that time if year but I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Highland is a great show. A day will cover it and then leave another day to explore Edinburgh. Great city

I'm less than 90 miles from it and was only there once, on the 12 May 1994. ( The day UK Labour leader John Smith died).
At least the Highland show is on over the weekend.

Do the foreign shows have as much rubbish as the ploughing has?

Royal Welsh,Highland,Balmoral or Great Yorkshire think that would be the big four. The group of 5 at the Royal welsh is the big one to win. Would love to see that someday.

Is Balmoral not Tuesday to Saturday?

The Great Yorkshire is well worth the trip. Good mix of attractions for everybody. We did The James Herriot Centre in Thirsk as well. The Yorkshire Vet is based there as well.

It's winding down well on a Saturday afternoon ( or was the time I was there, which in fairness was before they moved to The Maze)

I went to Balmoral two years ago for the look. It's a good show with a savage amount of stock showing at it. I found it a good mix of everything and will probably go back again at some stage. Parking is very good as well right beside the showgrounds.
