    Hi folks,
    Some advice needed please.
We have a downstairs gravity fed shower run off the immersion hot water tank upstairs, i think it may be a recessed Mira 88 or something very similar.

We are retiling the bathroom etc so it is a good time to replace the 14 year old shower.
How do i access the shower mixer valve to replace it?

There is plasterboard behind the tiles, so i presume it will be a case of cutting access holes into the plaster board when the tiles come off. Is this the normal way to access a shower?
    Any other suggestions please?

A photo would help. But generally MIRA shower mixers can be accessed from the knob and the whole thing replaced as a cartridge. Did one for a mate a little while ago: a 20 minute job with the cartridge costing a hundred or so. Given you can replace it anytime (subject to it being a front accessed type), I'd do it when needed.

    Hi antiskeptic for reply.
I was going to replace it with a differant type of Mira, as i believe the 88 is no longer available.

I believe a lot of the mixers have 150 centres, hopefully the 88 has the same.

Well Mira stock the parts and there's youtube videos to look at to see if its something you reckon you can take on. Seems straightforward enough.
