Need help - Present - €400 Budget

My wife’s birthday is in two weeks and I want to get her a decent digital camera.

Main use will be for family pics. My son plays a lot of sports so we’d like something that could take decent images pitch side.

Any recommendations?

I like the Sony range. But others would differ. I have a Sony A5000 with a 55-210mm lens that can take nice shots of sports. I liked it so much I upgraded to a Sony A6500.

Just got my mother a Panasonic TZ90. The photo quality wouldnt be as good but it has a great zoom.

Yea, it's very easy to use. You can use it as a point and shoot until you're ready to use the different features. On Amazon the A5100 is £350. That would be with a 16-55mm lens. I got that first and then later got a zoom lens for €250.

They’re all very similar. It’s like saying you want to buy a car, which one is best? The Canon is smaller than that Nikon, so you’d probably bring it more places, and be less bulky. Could she go in some place and see which ones feel most comfortable to hold etc?

I can get the Nikon for €500 from Argos so decided to go with it in case there were any issues and it being a gift.
