Find out who your nearest weighbridges are and see if they are authorized by your county council

One thing to watch out for is the weight on your vehicle license cert (or whatever its called) as if they don't match they might insist on issuing a new one.
I got a 2nd van transferred to my name i.e. new cert etc and when I went to renew the tax a few months later I got all my docs together including weight document from local placee and went to the tax office in Naas and the lady behind the counter looked at all the docs but the weight on the vehicle cert was 30kg different than the weight on the weight doc, probably as it was full of diesel when I weighed it!, she said as they were different I would probably need a new cert, she looked at it again and handed me back the weight document and said she'd enter the same weight on the system to save the hassle!

i took my Camper into the local Creamery, the Lads weighted it and gave me a docket, no charge, they barely looked at in at the NCT
