In its last year of warranty now, I was checking around to see how much it costs to replace the pcb board at todays prices.

These parts are very expensive in this country, I've heard average prices of €300 - €400 being mentioned so I've searched around in the uk and I can get a genuine vokera board for only €143

So is it worth having one to future proof the next 5 years?

Vokera do a fixed price repair plan and you can always purchase an extended warranty from them if you feel there are going to be problems with your boiler going forward... Bear in mind that if you do buy a spare board you will still need to get an RGII to fit it as its illegal to have someone not qualified to work on a gas boiler....

AFAIK Vokera are no longer providing extended warranty or fixed price repair (very limited if they are)

Also bear in mind that if you do buy the board, by the time you use it, it will be out of warranty also (12 month warranty)
I wouldn't sweat it, most manufacturer's carry spare for some time on there boilers, you can still get parts for the 20 year old Vokera Mynutes!

Very good point I was over looking that, and yes I do have my own rgii man, I read somewhere that they don't recommend repairs, but if they are doing them..... 3 month guarantee?

    cheers lads.

What if the fan goes? What if the gas valves goes?

I wouldnt be pre empting your boiler breaking down and that it will be the PCB if it does. Your boiler may never need a part and the €143 will be a waste, save your money and ensure that it's serviced annually.

Vokera do a fixed price repair service anyway.

Was only chatting with their service manager last week, and no doing much of it any more due to resources
