Trivial Things That Bemuse You

    We have the Trivial Things That Annoy You/Make You Happy' threads, but sometimes there are things that you might like to share that don't quite fit into either, so why not have a Trivial Things That Bemuse (or Amuse) You?

    Yesterday (for example), somebody in the TA thread had a post that would probably be appropriate for here.

    For my own, I'll start with my 7 year old nephew. Lately, he thinks it's hilarious to shout "BUTT CHEEKS!" at you, which is all well-and-good when at home. The other day, my sister was in Dunnes Stores or somewhere similar that had a few mannequins dressed in very skimpy lingerie, in the run-up to Valentine's Day. My nephew went into overload, shouting "BUTT CHEEKS!" while my sister tried a bit of damage limitation in vain. :D

    (Probably not the greatest example but it'll do for a start...)

    Cave dwellers that can't take a hint, starting the same thread ad infinitum.

    Our mother came down for a visit at the weekend.
    Sitting around the table having breakfast, we talked about places in London we would go to on a future visit.
    My wife is frightened of birds and said;

    "Well, I can't go to Trafalgar Square anyway because of the.....*makes flapping motion with her hands*" - there being hundreds of pigeons milling around the Square.

    My mam, completely misunderstanding her was bemused and said "Why not? Because of the Gays?"

    :confused:........:pac:

    Yeah, we better avoid Trafalgar Square because of the litany of flamboyant homosexuals. Telpis.
