Nissan Leaf - squeaky steering

Our 2014 Nissan Leaf has suddenly developed squeaky/creaking steering, turning the steering wheel either direction at low speed leads to loud creaking which appears to be coming from both front wheels. The car drives fine, there aren’t any warning lights, tyre pressure seem fine, so just a creaking noise.

Any suggestions before I head of to a Nissan dealer?

Did you check the level of your power steering fluid? Might just be low or it might have developed a leak. I would look at this sooner rather than later as low levels might damage your steering rack.

It would appear that one track rod end and both control arm bushings need replacing, not sure which is causing the creaking noise but they all need doing, easier to replace the whole arm. The other track rod end caused an NCT failure last year. Just under 90k km on the clock, does this seem normal? I do trust the garage that looked at it as I’ve been using them for years, not a Nissan dealer BTW.
