    Hi all.

Well traveled couple who were all over the world but looking for somewhere closer to home for a week in April. We're into spending time in the beach, sightseeing and culture. But also want to be close enough to the typical summer resort area.

    So far we have discussed

some Greek islands - really interested in spending the week doing some island hopping, enjoying some sunshine

Albufeira - I know it's not full of culture, well apparently the old town is lovely, but there's some good boat trips and maybe day trips to towns

Egypt - I'm a huge history buff. Egypt is in my to do list 100% but Cairo and maybe Luxor would leave no time for beaches up North

Israel - again, history buff so Jerusalem vwoikd be just as fascinating as visiting Egypt even though I'm an atheist, Jerusalem looks like such an experience and close by is Tel Aviv which looks to have a decent beach

Haven't really discussed anywhere else as of yet. First two are less culture, more sun holiday while the other two are more the opposite.

    What do you guys think?

After some discussions with the girlfriend, we are really looking at Israel right now.
