    Looking for a new laptop
Want to get an Oculus Rift too So needs to be compatible. That seems to need 3 usb ports and hdmi
So some graphics card of quality needed
8gb ram but would like 16gb
    15 " or larger screen
SSD 250g or larger but here is the trickier bit I am not sure of. I have a SSD 1T drive already so want one that I can add that into.

2 in 1 tablet option with touch screen would be kind of nice.

Up to €2k but would like to spend less if I can

you'd need a 1060 card min but really ideally a 1070 card or 1070 max q in the laptop for Occulus. 1060 in a laptop barely runs it.

Razer Blade 15 or Msi P65 I would say. both have 1070 max-q versions which is the one you want

maybe try Germany for the best price

they will be at the limit of your budget of 2000.

a usb port hub will work for the rift. you don't need 3 ports

2-in-1 tablet is useless on a 2kg/near 2kg laptop - it's too heavy to use as a tablet.

    Cheers
Good to know about the hub option.
The 2 in 1 feature is not to use it as a tablet as such but like the touch screen and drawing ability.
Won't be carried around too much mostly moving between 2 rooms in the house with an extra monitor, keyboard etc... at the desk.

some gaming laptops may have touch screens but I've not seen one with the special technology to allow accurate drawing

i.e. palm-rejection technology and Wacom tablet tech

for drawing you really need to be able to have the 270 degree hinge to put the screen flat and that's not a gaming laptop feature either

imo touch-screen is pretty useless without that 270 degree hinge or alternatively a detachable keyboard

I know it may not suit you, but there are other budget options. WMR runs on lower hardware and can still run Oculus/Vive apps fairly seamlessly. I've had WMR headsets running on 960m/gtx 1050/rx 460. Runs via one USB and one HDMI port. Haven't had trouble running anything so far.

you could push the boat out to get this beauty - future proof things!
seems like the new gtx 2080 provides a big boost in laptops compared to the 1000 series cards

the new dell g5 for under 1600 with the 2060 card (more powerful than 1070 max q) looks a good deal
